Long Period Variables (LPVs) represent a late stage in the evolution of intermediate mass stars. Mass loss which leads them to planetary nebulae within a few 105 years is a complex process and the object of many investigations. Recent studies suggest that mass loss could occur in brief superwind phases separated by long quiescent periods. Here, we produce a total of about one hundred light curves of Mira stars. Furthermore, some relationships between mass loss and the shape of the light curve are analysed.
