The Deep Near-Infrared Survey (DENIS) camera was first set up in August 93 at the focus of the 1 meter telescope of the Bonn University at Hoher List (Germany) in order to check the mechanical and optical matching. The DENIS camera was eventually set up at the 1 meter telescope of the European Southern Observatory at La Silla, Chile for a 2-month commissioning period in December 93 and January 94. Here, we present here some of the first astronomical results obtained during this run.
