We have analyzed the total sample of novae discovered at Asiago in the course of two surveys of M33. The nova rate has been determined through the 'control time' method and a value of RM33 approximately equal to 5 novae/yr is derived. We discuss possible differences between the nova production rate in bulge-dominated and bulgeless galaxies. Galaxies having late Hubble type are found to be more prolific nova producers than bulge dominated systems.
