Swift-BAT confirms in hard X-rays (15-50 keV) the recent increased activity from Aql X-1 seen in optical by Ilovaisky and Chevalier (ATEL #1553). A 4-second long burst was detected from this source with an intensity of 0.9 Crab at 2008-05-29 00:54:26 UT. Since that time, the persistent flux has been rising and is at 60 mCrab as of 2008-06-03. Previous Aql X-1 outbursts have also been seen as persistent flux and bursts by BAT: most recently a series of six bursts spanning 2007-09-19 to 2007-10-14, during an X-ray and Optical outburst (ATELs #1216, #1218, #1219, #1229, #1232).
