For over a decade, the ULIRG Arp 220 has been the object of a high
sensitivity VLBI campaign at a wavelength of 18 cm to observe the
evolution of a cluster of unresolved radio sources, originally
identified as Type IIn radio supernovae by tet{smith1998}. The results
of the most recent VLBI observations of Arp 220 are summarized here.
