The International Year of Astronomy begins in January 2009 and NASA's preparations are well underway. The combined Great Observatories (Hubble, Chandra and Spitzer) are organizing coordinated image releases and IYA-themed products, such as planetarium shows, vodcasts, and large public events. IYA2009 is giving NASA a greater opportunity for cross-mission planning and resource sharing as we strive to make as many people as possible part of our upcoming year-long celelbration.
