From the viewpoint of gas dynamics, solar wind (SW) interaction with the local interstellar medium (LISM) is a combination of blunt-body and jet flows. Since the LISM is only partially ionized, one should take into account momentum and energy exchange between neutral and charged particles to model this interaction. We show that possible asymmetries of the heliospheric interface can be substantially affected by charge exchange. Numerical study is performed with the application of Godunov-type schemes based on approximate solutions of the MHD and gas dynamic Riemann problems.
