We describe an investigation of the nature of extended cold dust emission discovered by ISOPHOT around gas-rich dwarf galaxies in the Virgo Cluster. This cold dust extends beyond the optical body of these galaxies (by factors of up to more than 3.5), and usually has extremely high 170/100 flux density ratios. There are indications that the extended cold dust is associated with the HI envelopes of these galaxies. Future MIPS data will distinguish between different scenarios for the wider existence, origin and heating mechanisms of the extended cold dust.
