It is well known that low-mass stars form by gravitational collapse of dense molecular cores and accretion via disks, while the formation process of massive stars is still poorly understood. We propose to survey HCO(+) (1-0) and H(13) CO(+) (1-0) lines towards 96 massive protostellar candidates in the outer Galaxy. The primary purposes of these observations are (1) to search for massive protostars in gravitational collapse stage using spectral signature of infall, ``blue-skewed profile", (2) to investigate whether gravitational collapse is an essential evolutionary stage in massive star formation as well by estimating the excess of blue-skewed profiles over red-skewed profiles, and (3) to study how the blue excess varies with the evolution of massive protostars in comparison with the results of the previous surveys, which were made for samples of massive YSOs at later evolutionary stages. In addition, we can also observe SiO (v=0, J=2-1) line, which can be used to study outflow activity, together with the two lines.
