The astronomy major as it currently exists in US colleges and universities ranges from a few courses attached to a physics major to a detailed curriculum covering most aspects of modern astronomy. To introduce the session on the undergraduate astronomy curriculum, I will present some data on how the astronomy major is actually constituted in research universities, liberal arts colleges, and those joint Physics/Astronomy Departments that offer a major in our field.
