A search was made for short-term increases of heavy-nuclei fluxes with energies not less than approximately 500 MeV/nucleon according to Prognoz-2 and Prognoz-3 data. It is noted that such increases have been observed by Soviet rockets and the Elektron and Molniya-1 satellites, but that the Prognoz satellites have not observed them. Moreover, the increase of January 2, 1974 observed by the scintillation-Cerenkov instrument on Molniya-1 was not observed by an analogous instrument on Prognoz-3. It is therefore concluded that the question of the nature of short-term increases of heavy-nuclei fluxes remains open.
