A method for studying the evolution of accretion tori orbiting around black holes is outlined. It assumes that the time-scale of evolution is much longer than the dynamical time-scale. The method consists of the arrangement of sequences of models in dynamical equilibrium. It incorporates viscous redistribution of angular momentum, mass loss due to the relativistic 'Roche lobe overflow' and other dissipative phenomena.
