A complete sample of faint stars with ultraviolet excess at the South Galactic Pole has been formed using machine measurements of UK Schmidt photographs. Results of statistical analyses of the stars' sky distribution indicate both that they are clustered amongst themselves and that they are anti-clusters with respect to faint galaxies. It is argued that these results are neither caused by the data reduction nor by contamination by ordinary galactic stars. If the extragalaxtic ultraviolet excess stars are quasars, then the cross-clustering results show no support for claims that excess numbers of quasars are found near low redshift galaxies.
