A reference-coordinate grid is constructed on the basis of the simultaneous statistical adjustment of all measurements using the least squares method. The inverse matrix of normal equations is calculated at the final stage of the iterative adjustment process and has the form of a covariance matrix of the spatial coordinates of reference-grid points. This covariance matrix is the necessary accuracy characteristic of the position of reference points in the planetocentric system of coordinates. It includes errors of measured coordinates of image points, ballistic and navigation data, and round-off errors that inevitably occur during the arithmetic operations.
