A statistical study is made of the evolution of X-ray radiation of 273 objects (235 quasars and 38 type I Seyferts) in the 0.5-4.5 keV band observed from the Einstein Observatory. Preliminary analysis of a natural physical sequence which seems to connect these objects on the L(x)-z plot, using the spherically symmetric accretion model of a black hole, shows that quasars may quickly cross the lower envelope of the QE band, leave it, and disappear. Due to large accretion rates, the staying time on this band for high-redshift quasars is found to be comparatively short, while that for low-redshift quasars and type I Seyferts is longer. These results agree with observations and indicate that AGNs may be manifestations of excited galactic nuclei. Using available monochromatic radio, optical, and X-ray luminosities, two evolutionary stages are found to exist in the optical luminosities of quasars: an optically bright and an optically faint stage.
