The propagation of massive neutrinos is investigated theoretically, considering the case of a Friedmann-type universe. An expression is derived for the distance of the neutrino horizon as a function of the relativistic parameter gamma (the ratio of the total energy of a particle to its rest mass). It is shown that the neutrino horizon is closer than the visual horizon, and that neutrinos emitted at different times from the same source can be detected simultaneously or even in reverse sequence. Taking scattering and absorption into account, the horizon of the cosmological neutrino background is estimated to be at about the distance of the Coma cluster.
