CO emission is sought from the outer Galaxy between longitudes 50 deg and 72 deg at latitude 1.5 deg spaced every 0.1 deg. It is pointed out that these observations are in the same region observed by Kutner and Mead (1981), who reported extensive emission from molecular clouds in the outer Galaxy, at galactic radii between 12 and 27 kpc; these are not seen in previous surveys. It is not found to be possible to reproduce their observations. Only 17 CO lines stronger than 1 K are found, whereas Kutner and Mead reported about 225. A comparison with the inner Galaxy at a longitude of about 29 deg reveals that a single spectrum has more integrated intensity than the sum of 220 spectra at negative velocities in this section of the outer Galaxy. In these 220 spectra, there are no emission lines from galactic radii greater than 15.5 kpc. Between 0.08 and 0.17 times as much mass is found in molecular clouds in the outer Galaxy as in the inner Galaxy.
