Recent observations indicate that extensive star formation sometimes arises in galactic nuclei as a consequence of galaxy-galaxy interactions. This process, which is called a star burst, can account for a wide range of activity observed in galactic nuclei, and the consequences may be important for providing sources of accretors to power Seyfert galaxies and quasars. There are many questions concerning the mechanisms of such large star formation. In connection with the objective to make progress toward answering some of these questions, a comparison was conducted of the optical, infrared, and radio properties of the most dramatic known example of widespread star formation stimulated by a galactic interaction. This is the system NGC 3690-IC 694. It was found that the extraordinary luminosity in optical emission lines, infrared continuum, and radio continuum of this interacting system is consistently explainable by exceptional episodes of star formation occurring at different locations.
