Compact Symmetric Objects (or CSOs) are believed to be young progenitors of the larger double-lobed radio galaxies and so are of particular interest for study of the early stages of development of the radio galaxy activity. We will report on a multi-frequency VLBA study of 19 CSOs and CSO candidates selected from the Second Caltech-Jodrell Bank (CJ2) survey. We will compare maps made from observations at 20, 6, 4, and 2 cm. We will use spectral index maps to show the spectra of the individual components in each source and to identify the core components. In addition to better characterizing the properties of genuine CSOs, these observations will allow us to eliminate core-jet sources misidentified as CSOs in the CJ2 discovery images. The observations for this study were obtained with the VLBA, which is operated by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, which is a facility of the National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.
