The cylindrical models of twisted magnetic tubes with two components of the field have a restricted application. Three-dimensional treatment necessary to study a realistic situation, i.e. axisymmetric force-free rope model with the field H→ {Hr, Hφ, Hz} should be regarded. The similarity law for the field distribution is always true for those magnetic configurations, if the total magnetic flux is invariant along the symmetry axis. The unique static force-free solution for a magnetic flux rope of variable diameter has been derived. The torque and pitch of the helix are found to be z-independent. The importance of the solution obtained for the problem of the twisted magnetic field dynamics on the sun is noticed.
