The diameter distribution relations for SNRs in M31 and M33 are considerably flatter than expected for SNRs in their adiabatic expansion phase. Surface brightness-diameter relations for these objects are, however, consistent with the relation for SNRs in the Galaxy. If only the most luminous SNRs have been detected so far, the intrinsic luminosity spread becomes more than a factor of 10.
