We present deuterium abundance analyses of the 905-1187Å spectra obtained with the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) toward four new lines of sight: the white dwarfs WD1631+781 and WD2004-605, and the subdwarfs PG0919+272 and CPD-31D1701. Numerous interstellar lines are detected on the continuum of the stellar spectra. Thorough analyses were performed through the simultaneous fits of interstellar absorption lines, including DI, OI, NI, FeII, or SiII, detected in the four FUSE channels (LiF1, SiC1, LiF2, and SiC2). We excluded all saturated lines in order to reduce possible systematic errors on the column density measurements. We report determinations of the average interstellar D/O and D/N ratios along these lines of sight. In conjunction with FUSE observations of other nearby sight lines, the results of these studies will allow a deeper understanding of the present-day abundance of deuterium in the local interstellar medium and its evolution with time. This work is based on data obtained for the Guaranteed Time Team by the NASA-CNES-CSA FUSE mission operated by the Johns Hopkins University. Financial support to U. S. participants has been provided by NASA contract NAS5-32985. French participants are supported by CNES.
