The author presents eight-colour intermediate band photometry in the 13-colour photometric system of Herbig's Ae and Be star LkHα 198 (≡HRC 3), and of the relative bright BD stars associated to LkHα 198's dark cloud, BD +57°18, BD +57°19 and BD +57°22. For LkHα 198 two flares were observed within 5 min as well as two new significant features in its spectrum: a strong Balmer continuum emission, and an excess in the [0.58] filter probably due to He I λ5875 Å and/or Na I-D λλ5889 and 5896 Å in emission. A Cygnus type interstellar extinction law with E(B-V) = 0m.26±0m.03 and a distance of 600 pc to LkHα 198's dark cloud was found. V376 Cas is also discussed in an appendix.
