First and second quadrant CO surveys on the number and distribution of molecular clouds in the inner galaxy are summarized. The Perseus Arm is the best place to determine the statistical properties of molecular clouds or cloud complexes. The largest complexes in the inner galaxy are similar to those in the Perseus Arm in size, mass, and velocity dispersion. The kinematic distance ambiguity to these complexes can be resolved with the associated population I objects. There are pronounced departures from axisymmetry in the distribution of large clouds. The Sagitarrius Arm is particularly coherent over at least 120_deg in galactocentric azimuth. Many of the large clouds in the ring population at R = 4 to 7 kpc lie at the near kinematic distance. The mass of molecular clouds in the region R = 4 to 7 kpc is comparable to the atomic mass. There are a few hundred large molecular clouds or complexes in the inner galaxy.
