The results of recent ultraviolet and deep infrared observations of the latest eclipse of the binary Epsilon Aurigae are reported. The observations were performed with both the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) satellite, and with the three-meter Infrared Telescope at Mauna Kea, Hawaii. On the basis of new theoretical models, several explanations are offered for the cyclic brightening and darkening of Epsilon Aurigae which occurs at precise intervals of 27.1 years. It is suggested that the eclipsing object is a hot, young star surrounded by a large cloud of dust and gas from which the star was probably born. The theoretical models are illustrated in a series of color drawings.
