The influence of stimulated annihilation processes on the steady emission properties of a double-quantum system is investigated, assuming a positron source of specified power. Criteria are established for operation of a coherent emission mechanism and, if the populations are inverted, a gamma-ray laser. The action of such an annihilation 'grasar' in amplifying radiation incident on the system is discussed, as is the likelihood of population inversion in cosmic gamma-ray sources.
