It is shown that the generalization of the scaling laws for hydrogen-like systems in magnetic fields published in this Journal by Wadehra in 1983 is false on account of an incorrect treatment of the two-body problem in a magnetic field. The analytic interpolation formulae for the magnetic field dependence of various properties of the hydrogen atom, additionally given in that paper, are not influenced by the erroneous scaling laws, but their usefulness is highly questionable since the underlying variational results deviate from the known accurate values by up to almost a factor of 2.
