Scientific paper

The capability of distance estimation by the geometrical method is
verified using numerical modeling for the case of Praesepe cluster. The
distance obtained using the Hertzsprung method is r = 175 + or - 47 pc.
The accuracy can be made better by the improvement of the proper motions
of cluster periphery members.
