The authors obtained infrared spectrophotometry of Cyg X-3 between 1.94
and 2.50 μ with a nominal bandpass of 0.07 μ. No evidence of the
Brackett γ line was seen, setting an upper bound on its equivalent
width of about 50 Å. These data impose weak constraints on
theoretical models of this enigmatic object.
