A catalogue is presented of Rood-Sastry (RS) types for the 1087 Abell clusters in distance class D = 5. The structural information was determined from visual inspection of the KPNO glass copy of the National Geographic Society Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS). The catalogue also includes the Hubble morphological type of the three brightest cluster members and the separations between them. The separation between the components of each binary galaxy (counted as one galaxy) among the three brightest is given; the observed number of other binaries is also given. Abell counts NA, Bautz-Morgan (BM) types, redshifts z, and line-of-sight velocity dispersions gathered from the literature are also tabulated. The authors describe several empirical results derived from their data. These results are discussed primarily in relation to selection effects. The identification of connections between empirical results and theoretical predictions are left primarily to the reader. The authors mention three current modeling efforts directed towards understanding overall cluster dynamics; they differ from one another depending on how the missing mass is distributed.
