Monochromatic photographs (Hβ, [O III], Hα) have been obtained of a field 10arcmin in diameter, centered on the stellar association LH 90 (Lucke and Hodge, 1970), which seems to be the core of N 157C, a bubble of ionized gas. The authors discuss the nebular morphology and excitation and compare with radio structures at 843 MHz (Mills and Turtle, 1984). The photographs allow to distinguish numerous stars (up to 20 - 30) in each of several tight clusters. The stellar content of LH 90 is shown to be in striking contrast with that of the associations LH 85 and 89, from which it is separated by a conspicuous dust lane. The WN3 star Brey 66 is found to be surrounded by a [O III]-rich ring nebula.
