The autocorrelation of a star image which can be obtained by speckle interferometric observations in polarized light is calculated for a spherically symmetric extended model of a Rayleigh scattering atmosphere. It is shown that polarization causes the deformation of autocorrelation of the star image and this effect can be observed with confidence with the available speckle interferometers.
