The present 1612 MHz observations of a color-selected sample of sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog without IR flux cutoff. This method has facilitated the identification of 169 new OH/IR stars. Most of the spectra can be unambiguously associated with OH masers emanating from a dusty interstellar shell; the expansion velocity of the shell, as well as the radial velocity of the central star, are thereby obtained. The IR color range in question can be associated with young, high-mass stars.
