The variations with time of the frequency of occurrence of the high-speed solar plasma stream (HSPS) were investigated using satellite data published by Lindblad (1981). The data consist of HSPSs derived from coronal holes, solar flares, and other sources. The periodicity of high-speed solar plasma derived from solar flares was found to be about 11 years, i.e., similar to the 11-year period of solar activity, while the HSPS periodicity derived from coronal holes was about 16 years and of opposite phase to the former periodicity. There also exist short-term perods, 12 and 14 months for solar plasma derived from solar flares, and 36, 24, 12, 6, 4, and 3 months for solar plasma derived from coronal holes. It is noted that the HSPS period of 24 months could be related to the 2-year period of the sunspont number analysis by Shapiro and Ward (1962) for the period 1856-1955.
