The evolution of a 7Msolar is significantly modified by the effect of turbulent pressure. During the early AGB stage, turbulent pressure makes the H-burning shell thicker and makes it terminate earlier; it makes the central temperature lower, and the evolutionary track on the HR diagram move towards lower left. In the late AGB stage, it can cause periodic oscillations in the luminosity, temperature and density of the H-burning shell, and can shorten the cycle of thermal pulses of the He-burning shell. For a 2.8 Msolar star, the effect of turbulent pressure is hardly noticeable.
