JHK observations were made for a selection of strong far-infrared sources containing large-mass YSOs using the 1.26 Beijing-Xinglong telescope. Three models, blackbody photosphere and envelope, double-shell dust emission, and detailed radiative transfer, were applied to these and other published infrared data to derive the temperature of the central star, Top, the circumstellar extinction and the thermal structure of the dust shell. An extended H-R diagram based on Top and L* derived from the infrared fluxes, was constructed for the YSOs. The infrared colour index S[16 - 60] was found to increase with age along given evolutionary tracks, and with mass for given isochrones.
