It is shown, by numerical simulation, that the gravitational lensing
magnification by foreground clusters of galaxies and their surrounding
structure cannot explain the large amplitude of quasar overdensity on
scales of 10 arcmin around the clusters. The lensing interpretation of
quasar-cluster association thus seems unlikely.
