Many amateurs around the world are now making significant contributions to asteroid research. The observers are collaborating nationally and internationally with other amateurs and with professional astronomers. Work is being done in the fields of astrometry and photometry, with many amateurs determining spin periods as well as contributing to shape modelling studies and radar investigations. Much of this research can be found published in the quarterly journal The Minor Planet Bulletin, now online.
