By using the 13.7 m radio telescope of Purple Mountain Observatory at Delingha, Qinghai, China, the CO J = 1-0 rotational transition spectra (115.27120 GHz) of Comet Hale-Bopp were taken from Dec 10, 1996 to Jan 2, 1997 and from Mar 25 to Apr 4, 1997. From the observational spectra, the blue shift of the observed geocentric velocities from the corresponding anticipated geocentric velocities is noted and the production rate of CO molecules has been roughly estimated.
