The paper discusses the interpretation of depression in brightness temperature associated with prominences observed on the disk at centimetric and millimetric wavelengths. The results of Raoult et al. (1979) are used to show that the UV observations of the prominence-corona transition region agree with the radio data. This is one of the methods to locate the origin of the radio depression on the prominence-corona transition region instead of the coronal cavity above filaments. Millimetric observations of filaments provide additional constraints on prominence core physical conditions which are realized in the currently available models.
