It is shown that the existence of a nonvanishing field of timelike directions on a manifold is a necessary and sufficient condition for the manifold to have a Lorentz metric. It is noted that the geometrical structure of space-time does not contain time arrows. The relationship between different time arrows in cosmological models with bulk viscosity is discussed.
