Observations of eight quasar- and BL Lacertae-type objects (3C 120, PKS 0735+178, PKS 0736+017, OJ 287, ON 325, W Com=ON 321, 3C 273 and OQ 208) with rapid and large-amplitude light variations are considered. The source of the comparison sequence for each of the eight objects is presented as well as observed blue magnitudes. The BL Lacertae-type object PKS 0735+178 was found to vary significantly in brightness on a time scale of weeks.
