Results of an 18-cm radio search for a 59.35-sec periodicity indicating the presence of the 100-MeV cosmic gamma-ray source CG 195.5+4.5 are reported. The point-by-point search at 99 points at 15-arcmin intervals over the 2 x 2 deg error box surrounding the gamma-ray position was made with a 37-m telescope using a parametric amplifier radiometer with a system noise temperature of 100 K. The folding and binning of data taken at 184-msec intervals over a 12-min period revealed no statistically significant 59.35-sec periodicity, allowing an upper limit of 0.375 to be placed on the 18-cm periodic flux from the source. The known spectrum of CG 195.5+4.5 is then compared with that of the Crab pulsar, and it is suggested that CG 195.5+4.5 may represent a pulsar emitting two pulses per pole, or, if the reported gamma-ray periodicity is false, a dark cloud complex excited by a supernova, a system containing a compact object, or a supernova remnant. Additional 18-cm mapping of the region surrounding the position of the source reveals no previously unknown sources brighter than 0.75 Jy.
