Statistical data regarding the occurrence of galaxies of different Hubble types in clusters of galaxies of varying degrees of compactness are presented, which contradict the prediction that Sc galaxies would be more likely to persist to the present epoch in dense clusters than Sa and Sb galaxies. It is noted that disk-to-bulge ratios of (undifferentiated) spirals which decrease with increasing local density of galaxies are consistent with the data presented, and it is concluded that most cluster S0's cannot have evolved from spirals by ram-pressure stripping.
