More than four years have passed since the first light of the near-infrared 3-band simultaneous camera, SIRIUS. The instrument is nightly continuing observations when the sky is clear, except for some periods of transportation and a little maintenance, and is producing various scientific results in spite of its single purpose of imaging. I reflected the background, motivation, and significance of this instrument-development project.
