The application of the problem of two fixed centers to the binary asteroid dynamics is discussed. As an example, we consider the comparison between two different descriptions of the precession motion of asteroid satellite: the description given by the equations for secular perturbations of the orbital elements under the influence of the second harmonic of gravitational potential and the description in the problem of two fixed centers.
