Solar Active Regions: Magnetic Fields

Scientific paper

Fractal features of magnetic fields in AR 5988 on March 25, 1990 and AR 6233 on August 30, 1990 have been studied. The main results are: (a) The distributions of longitudinal magnetic fields in both regions are not in agreement with FBS. (b) The fractal features of these distributions are quite different. (c) Four statistical parameters describing the fractal features evolve with time. The physical meanings of these results have been discussed briefly.
