The Fermi energy of an electron and the nuclear screening potential in a high magnetic field are analysed respectively. The effects of the magnetic field on several important thermonuclear reactions in astrophysics are discussed. It is shown that a high magnetic field causes the nuclear screening potential to increase very much in low densities, but the magnetic field (105 ≡ 109T) on the surface of neutron stars has little effect on the thermonuclear reaction in high densities (ρ/μe > 105mol·cm-3).
