From the analysis of 225 CCD frames of GRS 1716-249 (=V2293 Oph) we found light modulations with a prominent period of 0.6127days (~14.7h). The folded lightcurve resembles those of SU UMa stars during superoutburst. This modulation is also exhibited, though less evident, by the color index (B-V). After assuming 14.7h as superhump period we estimate the mass of the primary to be >4.9Msun_. A simple model to interpret the `hump' lightcurve is suggested. Two shorter periodicities (~1.3h and ~1.7h) which might be produced by blobs of material orbiting in the inner region of the accretion disk were also observed. Further spectrophotometry on this object has been performed on July 1994 and February-March 1995, confirming the presence of a secondary maximum in the overall lightcurve.
