Scientific paper

The present volume on meteors and other bodies of astrophysical interest presents a compendium of abstracts describing papers on such topics as lunar samples, craters, interplanetary dust, tektites, and aspects related to asteroids, comets, planets, and the origin and history of the solar system. Specific issues addressed include the mineralogy and chemsitry of unique chondrites, simulations of Galactic cosmic-ray interactions with regolith, analyses of micrometeoroid remnants, exposure histories of lodranites, the time structure of a mass extinction at the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary, and Mg/Si in the earth, planets, and meteorites. Also addressed are the oxidation of ordinary chondrites during metamorphism, the origin of the lunar asymmetries, early chronology of the H chondrite asteroid, the possibility of high meteorite concentrations in the Atacama Desert, Chile, and the foundation of forensic meteortitics.
